Yvan is intern in Wuxi (China). Wuxi (Chinese: 无锡) is an old city in southern Jiangsu province, China. The city borders two other large cities, Changzhou to the west and Suzhou to the east, and borders Zhejiang Province as well in the south. It also covers a coastline of the Yangtze River in the north and two separate coasts of Lake Tai. Wuxi is well known for being one of the birthplaces of China’s modern industry and commerce, as well as the hometown of many important businessmen who have played essential roles in building commerce in Shanghai since the early 20th century.
Yvan gives us his feedback about his experience in China.
Thanks to the EasyPass International network, I found an internship in Wuxi, a city of 6 millions inhabitants located at the West of Shanghai. Wuxi is the world capital of Internet of Things (IoT) : a lot of pioneering companies have their seats in Wuxi.
Attracted by entrepreneurship, I was able to work as an intern in a very future-oriented start-up which was specialised in educative products, to teach students and engineers the new programming languages which are necessary to the development of connected objects. This Chinese SME was very important in China and I had to face important responsibilities, such as the extension of the company’s activities at the international level.
This meeting of two visions of the world, two completly different horizons was an asset not only for the firm’s activities, but also for my personal development.
I came back to France with a lot of ideas in my mind. I really recommend such an experience in China or elsewhere in the world – at one condition : you must be able to go out of your comfort zone.”
